Open Application Window for 8th Annual Travis County Expunction Expo

Now thru Thursday, January 28, 2026 

Travis County Residents can get assistance in clearing arrests from their records. Residents who complete the expunction process improve their access to jobs, financial assistance for higher education, and housing. The Travis County Expunction Expo will take place in late February.

Travis County Voter Registration Pop-Up Event

Saturday, January 31, 2026 /11:00am – 2:00pm

Travis County Clerk’s Office will host a pop-up event, meant to encourage Travis County residents to update their voter registration. The next primary election’s voter registration deadline is Monday, February 2. Attendees at this event will interact with County Clerk staff, enjoy free food, and receive important voter information.

The Hygiene Closet

Superior Health Plan and the Church of Christ at Eastside sponsors Hygiene Closets every 4th Saturday of the month.
Hygiene Closets are stocked with essentials like toiletries, household items, hygiene products, and other items for individuals and families in need. These closets help to improve the well-being and health of the homeless, low-income families, students, or anyone who may be facing a temporary life crisis by providing basic necessities.

Free Healthy Food

Tuesday, January 20, 2026 / 9:30a.m. – 11:00a.m.

The Central Texas Food Bank & the Church of Christ at East Side has its Mobile Food Pantry available for free food distribution every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Receive a variety of fresh food, including meat, beans, canned fruit & vegetables, soup, cereal, potatoes, rice, pasta, and more.

All mobile pantry distributions are drive-thru only with pre-packed boxes directly loaded into your vehicle’s trunk, so please make space. There is a limit of one box of food per household.

CommUnityCare will triage people over the phone and send them to the appropriate location. This service is available to people with no insurance and no established provider, who are experiencing coronavirus-like symptoms. Utility Service Assistance

The City of Austin is committed to the health and safety of the public and has suspended all utility disconnects for non-payment. Austin Energy offers special assistance programs for both residential and commercial customers. Additional Customer Assistance Programs are available for customers facing temporary and long-term financial difficulties, as well as serious medical problems. Curbside for Seniors

Immediate Housing Needs Assistance

Neighborhood Housing and Community Development offers information and referrals for immediate housing to assist COVID-19-impacted community members. Information includes resources to avoid eviction or displacement, local programs that provide temporary, emergency financial assistance for utilities and rental expenses, and information for homeowners on mortgage assistance and property tax payment options.
